Since my early teens, I have been a big fan of The Scorpions. Never got to see them, as I either had something come up or timing was never right. Once I got married and became a dad, my priorities changed and forgot about the joy of seeing live music.
So now, I am able to once again, see some of my all time favorites and I'm taking advantage of every chance. We were supposed to see The Scorpions in Las Vegas, 2020 but due to a little thing called a pandemic, the whole world was put on hold. Jeez, it took two years almost to get refunded for the trip, although not fully (Thanks Air Canada, you bastards).
Fast forward two years later, and Scorpions are kicking off their 2022 North American tour for their new album (Rock Believer) in Toronto August 27 at Budweiser Stage. The only problem is that we already had tickets to see Red Hot Chili Peppers on the same night at Rogers Center. What to do? Do we try to resell our RHCP tix and go see the Scorps? Nah!
Instead, we jumped on Porter Airlines for an hour flight the next weekend to see them at the Bell Center in Montreal. What a show! They still enjoy what they do and it shows. The set list was a mix of fan favorites for us to sing along to and a preview of newer stuff. The sound was better than the last weekend RHCP show and in my opinion, better than Budweiser Stage (where we saw Iron Maiden). We came out very happy that I finally had a chance to see one of my all time favorite rock bands.
